Historic Firearms & Collectibles Show

The WRPC Annual Gun Show of Historic Firearms and Collectibles will be held at the clubhouse on Saturday February 22, 2014.

Displays demonstrate how guns evolved through history from black powder to  current day “black guns”.

See the military memorabilia reflecting the events of the First and Second World Wars, and the Korean War.

Learn how shooting techniques and firearms vary among the many shooting disciplines.

Whether you are interested in making connections to become active in Trap, Metallic Silhouette, Practical Handgun or Long Distance Bench Rest shooting or just to find out what is happening at the Range this year, come on out !

Doors open at 10 am. Admission is $5.00 for adults. Hourly door prizes.

Membership Dues 2014

In order to be considered a member in good standing you must renew your membership by January 31, 2014. The membership year is from January 1st to December 31st.

Any member  with an existing gate key who renews their membership  by January 26, 2014 will receive their 2014 Membership card and gate key by attending the Annual General Meeting on Sunday January 26th, 2014. Please remember to turn in your old gate key at this time. Paid up members not attending the AGM will receive their membership card and key by mail.

Any member with an existing gate key who renews their membership after January 26, 2014, will receive their 2014 membership card and gate key by mail. Your old gate key can be turned in at  Hougen’s SportsLodge. Or, until the end of March 2014, you can  turn it in at the Indoor Range Monday or Wednesday evening.

Members who renew by December 31st will have their name entered into a draw for a prize to be awarded at the Annual General Meeting.

Indoor Range Open for the Season

Starting November 4th, 2013 the Indoor Range will be open on Monday and Wednesday evenings beginning at 7 pm during the winter season with the final evening being Monday March 31, 2014.

The Indoor Range  will be closed on stat holidays (Remembrance Day, Christmas Day and New Year’s day) and when the temperature is minus 30 Celsius or colder.

Two Range Safety Officers will be on duty to assist club members and visitors with understanding the range rules, purchasing targets and ammunition.

Rimfire (.22 cal) shooting is scheduled to begin at 7 pm. Members with Handgun Proficiency Status may shoot Centre fire handguns once rim fire shooters are finished.

The Yukon Shooting Federation is the governing body for all shooting sports in Yukon.

All shooting disciplines have a voice. Will your shooting interests be heard?

Did you know that the YSF sponsors a variety of Yukon Championship events including the upcoming Canadian National Silhouette Rifle Championships, scheduled to happen at the Whitehorse Rifle and Pistol Club in July 2014?

Did you know that Yukon has had Gold Medal recipients at the Canada Winter Games? Although the Arctic Winter Games removed the shooting sports from the schedule, the Canada Winter Games and the Olympics continue to recognize the shooting sports.

As a member of the shooting community you should consider taking a more active role in your sport, or at least attend the AGM to hear how you can help or just to find out how the organization works.

The Yukon Shooting Federation requires new leadership.
