Gate Lock Change-out

The locks on the gate will be changed Wednesday March 28, 2018 at the conclusion of the final evening of the Indoor Range season.

New key for the old key. Return your 2017 gate key with your membership renewal for 2018 and the 2018 gate key will be issued.

If you are renewing your membership now, but are planning to use the range between now and the end of March, please keep your 2017 key. There will be opportunities to exchange the key later in March.

If you missed one of the Cast Bullet-Lever Action Shoots that were scheduled every month from April through to September you have one last chance this year to strut your stuff!

The season ending, wind-up shoot is scheduled for Sunday October 15th, 2017. Chances are the black flies will be gone but the cooler temperatures will present a different challenge.

Lever Action with Iron Sights – 30 shots for score. Targets at 100 to 200 yards, shot off-hand and over a rest.

Cast Bullet with Iron sights – 30 shots for score. Silhouette & Bullseye targets at 150 & 200 yards.  Must use a single- shot or lever action rifle.

5 point bonus on aggregate score for black powder cartridge shooters.

Refreshments will be provided and prizes will be awarded after the events are concluded.

Public Access to the Range

Every Thursday evening from the beginning of May until the end of September, the WRPC shooting range is available to the public without charge. Range Safety Officers are on duty to ensure a safe shooting environment and all participants are expected to obey the Range Safety Officers. The range may close before 9 pm in the fall if light conditions are not suitable for shooting.

Please check out the Range Rules before you arrive to the range. The Range Safety Officer will advise you on approved targets and direct you to the appropriate shooting area.

Public night can be very busy in the weeks leading up to hunting season so if you are planning to sight-in your rifle for hunting get this task accomplished well before you plan to go hunting. Don’t forget to bring your paper targets, stapler, hearing protection and spotting scope or binoculars. Your time on the firing line may be limited when there are a large number of people wanting to shoot.
